Photo Process Gallery

Visiting the photo processes gallery in Old College was an eye opening experience. I had no idea that there were so many ways to develop and show a photograph, let alone that these techniques are still used today. We learned about many processes from daguerreotype to the bromoil process. It was also cool hearing about the photographers that used these developing techniques when they were the only option. Photographers like Eugene Atchet, and Gertrude Casebeer are a huge inspiration because they were able to create amazing photographs using very hard to work with materials and conditions. The gallery really showed me that photographers are very hard working and dedicated to the art.

One process that really stood out to me was the gum bichromate process. It allows the artist to manipulate the photograph which can create cool effects. A website that describes in detail about this complicated process is:
